Hey! I'm Sophie and I'm a researcher in the field of bio-design - bringing together biotech knowledge and design principles to integrate our built environment into natural processes. I am passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration and circular process design to restore our planetary health and regenerate living systems. My background spans formulations chemistry, waste valorisation, enzyme characterisation and microbe cultivation. My approach is rooted in the interconnectedness of living and engineered systems and fuelled by fermentation. I am committed to working collaboratively and sustainably with the natural world - always eager to learn new skills, make discoveries, and solve problems with enthusiasm and creativity. I am currently developing my skills in computational design and fabrication, lab automation, woodworking and DJing! I am dedicated to translating laboratory discoveries into practical, scalable solutions, and making scientific research inviting, accessible and engaging.
