I am a passionate synthetic biologist with a strong interest in bioentrepreneurship, supported by a proven record in both academia and industry. I hold a PhD in Synthetic Biology from the University of Edinburgh, where I contributed to groundbreaking research on plant systems, biomaterials, and bioproduction. Currently, I serve as a Senior Scientist in the SynBio team at bit.bio, where I lead the development of high-throughput platforms for gene editing and the differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cells. Additionally, I am a co-founder of Prozymi Biolabs, a startup aimed at revolutionizing the gluten-free sector. In this role, I oversee research and development strategies that significantly impact the company’s innovation and fundraising efforts. Furthermore, I co-founded and serve as an editor for the non-profit organization Fact Check Cyprus, which addresses misinformation in Cyprus. My extensive skill set includes molecular techniques and computational tools, strengthened by my commitment to scientific communication and leadership.
