I have 14 years of experience in cellular and molecular biology. My PhD research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) involved designing genetically encoded molecular tools and evaluating protein expression motifs. Part of my PhD work was published in the top-tier journal, Cell, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cell.2020.10.035. Additionally, I learned glass blowing at MIT and have continued working with hot glass for 5 years, giving me a different perspective on glass as a medium than most biologists. I believe humankind can find a way to work harmoniously with nature instead of abusing the planet’s resources, and my project to use post consumer glass to create industrial chemicals with enzymes stems from that belief.
