Hi everyone, I'm Mike (most people call me Mini). I'm a biochemist and the founder of Minimal Bio LLC, based in Broomfield, Colorado. I earned my PhD from CU Boulder in 2019, and I've spent the past several years working at the intersection of protein engineering, high-throughput screening, and computational design. Earlier in my career, I helped get an NGS cancer assay through FDA submission at ArcherDx, and later co-invented a single-cell microscopy platform for screening up to a million protein variants per plate at BioLoomics. These days, I run ProOS, a de novo protein binder discovery pipeline, and I'm building out a small independent lab focused on cost-conscious, open-science approaches to biotech. Outside the lab, I climb, fish Colorado's backcountry, and tinker with DIY instrumentation. I'm here to learn from this community and share what I'm working on. Glad to be here.
